NYMFD Volunteers respond to fire at F.X. Matt Brewery

May 29, 2008 -- Utica, New York

New York Mills Volunteer Fire Department was called in my Utica City Firefighters to assist at the scene of structure fire at the F.X. Matt Brewery, home of Utica Club and Saranac Beers.

The call came in shortly ater 5:00pm, and New York Mills Firefighters remained on the scene until 9:15am the next day.

The fire was ignited by a welding project on one of the brewery's machines, and quickly spread throughout the 4-story brick structure.

Along with New York Mills and Utica City Fire Department; New Hartford, Whitesboro, Maynard and Ilion fire departments also responded.

for 50 Years of Service

January 26, 2008 -- Twin Ponds Golf & Country Club, New York Mills, NY.

At he New York Mills Fire Department Annual Installation Banquet, Firemen’s Home Trustee John Montrose presents three of his fellow New York Mills Fire Department members a proclamation from FASNY for their 50 years of service to the fire department and community.

Pictured Left to Right: Firefighter Mike Dubiel, he also served two terms as Mayor of the village, Trustee John Montrose, Past Chief Ron Roman having served as chief for 44 years, Past President Bob (Brick) Brykala. He is a Past President of the Oneida County Volunteer Firemen’s Association. They each received a proclamation from the Office of Fire Prevention and Control as well as many letters of recognition from the village and towns.
